Fancy doing something a bit nostalgic? Then why not head to Purbeck where you can take a steam train ride on the Swanage Railway, climb the hill to see the breathtaking views from Corfe Castle, a national trust site, walk along the blue flag beach or do a spot of crabbing with the family on the prom before finishing your truly fantastic day out with a Dorset cream tea! The shops in Swanage are also a fantastic way to while away an afternoon with such variety including fudge and fairies!
Why not enjoy a fantastic trip to Lymington with its regular markets, beautiful quay and great connections to the Isle of Wight, with a partially cobbled shopping area and quirky little shops it’s the ideal destination to just have a gentle meander or just to sit and watch the lifeboat station activities!
How about taking a step back in history by visiting Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard? Bucklers Hard is a unique 18th century village where the warships for Nelson were built… Set in the middle of the New Forest National Park and on the edge of Beaulieu River you will find an exquisite maritime museum and plenty of history, the community are very welcoming with treats such as a Bear shop and a large array of local wildlife or why not visit the Motor Museum and house at Beaulieu?
If it’s something for a group of children then why not go to Calshot Activity Centre in the New Forest or Little Canada on the Isle of Wight where they have suitable accommodation for your young group and they can learn wide range of activities such as abseiling, canoeing, kayaking and quad biking!
If your worried about the weather then why not go to Weymouth where if the weathers good you can go down to the beach to see the renowned sand artist, visit the sea life centre or eat chips on the prom, however if the weather is bad they have a fantastic undercover shopping centre which is great even if you have disabilities!
If your looking for something for everyone then why not head to Brighton, the cosmopolitan city has many hidden gems to attract everyone, why not wander around The Lanes where traditional boutiques hold buried treasures or visit Churchill Square for the vibrant mix of your high street stores, with a pleasure pier and theatres galore there are all the ingredients that you would need to have a wonderful day out by the sea!
